Roll Over

It was last night. It was late. I was tired...and getting very frustrated! Normally Kajsa goes to bed around 8 pm and sleeps until morning, but last night she woke up around 9. I figured if I left her for a while she would go back to sleep, but when she was still babbling at 9:30 I decided to feed her again. After eating I put her down and she kept jabbering. John and I went to bed. 10 o'clock rolled around, and then 10:30, at which point she decided to start crying. I was very frustrated...this was very unlike her! At 10:45 she started howling, so I got up to try to console her. I got in her room and could not help but bursting out in laughter! There she was, laying diagonally across her crib, ON HER BACK! (she sleeps on her tummy) She rolled over for the first time. How exciting! I immediately repented of my terrible attitude and rejoiced in this new little victory for her. It's amazing how exciting all of the "little things" are!

What's in a name?

Pat's Erection and Breeding Services

That was going to be my brother-in-law's company name, but my sister put the kibosh on that plan (I think). You see my b.i.l. is a carpenter, and my sister was breeding dogs at the time...it would have been great!

And I says Pardon?

Who ever thought that it was ok to say "that looks good on you" when referring to someone (usually someone who doesn't have kids) holding a baby? What does that mean? Whatever it means, I hate it! It's just not ok to say in my world. Is a baby an accessory?

Also, I was out driving the other day and saw the following on a cab: "Your safety & comfort is our motto". I think to myself "?????Really?????". Ok then. I suppose that can be your motto.

Anyway, it's been a while since I last posted....that crackbook, it gets me every time. I do have things I want to blog about, I just don't remember them when I am at the computer.

Growing Pains

I have had a particularily bad day today....sometimes it is so hard to be an adult; to set boundaries; to love. I always find comfort in these words:

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Philippians 4:4-8)

Who are you talking about?

I have come to realize that I frequently refer to myself in third person when I am talking to Kajsa. I will say things like "Mamma needs to get you dressed, and then she has to do some laundry." Why do I do this? I don't talk to anyone else like that, and I'm sure that one day she is going to start thinking to herself "Who is this Mamma you're always talking about?"

On a different note....is there anything more precious or heart warming than feeding your baby and having them stop eating only to look up at you and smile? Life is good!

Crackbook Addict

Like so many of the people I know I have become addicted to Facebook; or like John calls it - Facecrack, or like Rudy calls it - Crackbook. Once you start you just can't stop.
